Born in conflict-ridden Gujrat, Pakistan, Road Runner’s family immigrated to Toronto’s Thorncliffe Park neighbourhood when he was nine. He’d get swept into the street life in his early teens, finding himself in frequent trouble with the law. In 2019, Runner made a vow to pursue music seriously. The lead singles off his EP—“Nightmares,” “Deep Scars,” and “Therapy”—have earned him feverish buzz in Toronto, and a spot in the “next up” conversation. In 2021, Runner had the best year of his career thus far, he was able to drop a big single with Anders "Made it Happen" which accumulated 500k+ steams, Spinladen featuring Smiley, and Trapistan. In the year of 2021, Runner accumulated 2.2 million streams on just Spotify - doing 1.6 million more streams than he did in 2020. Runner released his highly anticipated album "Trapistan The Mixtape" on March 8, 2022. He was heavily influenced by his culture for this mixtape. A couple of days in it is sitting at 800k streams and rising on the Apple Music Charts. With Trapistan The Mixtape, Road Runner's main goal is to bridge the gap between his two cultures- Pakistan & Canada.
