The Escape Society
The Escape Society is all about feeling good and celebrating life.
Combining vintage cool with contemporary ingenuity, the rocking band features veteran players Troy Huizinga, Scott Norris, Dean Watson and Jay Watts. Drawing inspiration from chart stalwarts like Foo Fighters, Queen, The Killers, Sparks and T. Rex, The Escape Society demand your attention and jump start your energy with honesty, catchy hooks and dance floor bangers. As lead singer Troy Huizinga sees it, “we’re here for a limited time on earth so let’s make it thrilling and fulfilling!”
The Andy Kaufmans started as a studio project at the ill-fated Shoebox Recording Studio in Ottawa, Ontario. The then co-owners, Bryan Ruckstuhl and Jonathan Chandler, had a running game to see how much music could be recorded before a client would arrive in the morning and as a general rule, no more than 2 hours could be spent recording any song. The result was 2017’s album “Maggie”. The duo would then release a handful covers and singles over the following years.
One sunny day the Andy boys figured “I suppose we should play a show, after all it’s been 6 years since we released an album”. So, they put together a band of friends, comprised of members from Ruckstuhl’s “The Lucky Setback” and Chandler’s “Amos the Transparent”, to bring the songs to life. Unfortunately, the duo required more human power than Alan Cross’ review of the band - “Basically, two guys and a dog.”
NATE SILVA is a Canadian guitarist and singer/songwriter who has travelled through several sonic worlds throughout his career. Whether he is touring North America with indie folk rock band REUBEN AND THE DARK, commanding the audience in his band (and Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2019 Champions) THE SLYDE at the world's biggest heavy metal festival in Germany, or interpreting your favourite Top 40 tune at a local pub, Nate's versatile guitar work and captivating tenor vocals shine across multiple musical genres.
After years of leading his own hard rock and heavy metal bands under pseudonyms and freelancing with numerous talented artists, Nate is now embarking on a solo career. His debut single, COME DOWN, evokes 1990s alternative post-grunge and dance rock vibes, and marks the beginning of a new musical adventure. Accompanied by drummer/vocalist Matt Babineau and bassist/vocalist Scott Reeves, Nate Silva's power trio continues the high energy rock music once established in THE SLYDE, with more dynamic musical versatility, personal reflection, and radio-friendly accessibility.
