Get ready for the 3rd annual StankFest, showcasing the best soul/funk music in the Capital region! 10-piece ensemble The Groovebug will kick things off, followed by Mecca of Stank for an evening that is guaranteed to get you moving and give you a stank face.

The Groovebug is an Ottawa-based funk band that formed over 30 years ago, delivering feel-good grooves and electrifying live shows. Drawing from classic funk, soul, and contemporary R&B influences, they layer tight rhythms with spirited horn lines and dynamic vocals to create an irresistible sound. Known for their high-energy performances that keep crowds dancing from the first note to the last.

Mecca of Stank has been performing music since 2019. One of the funkiest and soulful bands to come out of Ottawa in recent years, their debut single 'Dopamine Dreams' garnered them much critical acclaim, and they were nominated for a 2023 OMIC Capital Music Award for Best Newcomer. They're known for their energetic shows, showcasing each of the talented performers under a giant neon pink "Stank" sign. They have released 11 studio singles, and the vinyl EP ‘Symbiosis’ in 2024. Their ultimate mission is to promote unity, love, positive vibes and to put stank on your face.
