Runaway Kit with Varitones & Next Week’s Washing
Runaway Kit is an Ottawa based alternative rock band blending driving guitars, dynamic keys, and a distinctive saxophone edge into a high energy, emotionally driven sound. Fronted by powerful female vocals, the band draws influence from artists like Blondie, Metric, and No Doubt, combining pop rock sensibilities with a modern alternative sound. Formed in 2024, the band quickly built momentum through live performances across the Ottawa scene. Their debut single Wired World, released April 18, 2026, marks the band’s first studio release and introduces their energetic, hook driven sound. The band consists of Tiffany Schilkie (lead vocals & guitar), Noémie Bergeron (keys & backing vocals), Kyle Kierstead (bass), Duncan Fyffe (saxophone) and Martin Chiasson (drums). Their music explores themes of identity, escape, and modern life.

Varitones is a Rock and Roll band known for bringing the energy and feel of rock’s greatest eras forwards into the modern landscape. Through gritty riffs, powerful vocals, bombastic drums, tight bass grooves and dynamic keyboards, they seek to make their mark on modern music. On their latest album “From the Bedlam” (released June 2026), they deliver a diverse collection of songs that are raw, uncompromising, mysterious and overflowing with energy.
This sonic blueprint translates into an electrifying live show where everything is left on the stage. Where the amps roar, the cymbals are bashed, and most importantly, all audiences are left blown away.

Next Week’s Washing
You didn’t know you needed them until you did. Next Week’s Washing merges shimmering shoegaze soundscapes with post-punk bite and ‘90s Britpop styling into a magnetic wall of sound that eschews nostalgia to create something new. Formed in 2024 by ambitious young musicians in Toronto – Rhys Newman, brothers Miles and Julian Duffy, and later joined by Ben Sawyer and Evan DeCastro – Next Week’s Washing delivers unforgettable tunes with powerful vocals and sublime guitar lines recalling Oasis and Slowdive, but in their own bold style. A breakout EP recorded by Dylan Frankland of Tallies and mastered by Canada’s top engineer Noah Mintz reflects the nuanced songwriting, tight execution and confident delivery that gets the crowd bouncing in their electrifying live performances. Catch them as the tide is rising. This is only the beginning.
