Based in ottawa, acadian singer-songwriter julie stella (she/her) describes her music as Moody, sad girl vibes. Some might describe her songs as nostalgic, while others might say they’re heartbreaking. Julie writes songs on her old piano to explore the complex layers of despair, grief and healing. Growing up in a small town in New Brunswick, Julie was drawn to music of all genres. Many artists influenced her sound and her style, including alanis morissette, fiona apple, Chantal kreviazuk and the cranberries. Loch Nisse Monster Loch Nisse Monster is the stage name for Nisse Anonby, a folk-rock singer-songwriter from Ottawa known for lyrical, story-driven music with rock/punk influences, often performing solo or with a band, and is active in the local music scene. The name came from a 70s party where someone said her name sounded like the famous monster. She's gaining traction in Ontario/Quebec, has released music like the concept album Forensis, and plays shows around Ottawa and beyond, sometimes with her band featuring Laetitia Lemieux, Griffin Nguyen, Chloé Martin, and Robyn Lichaa.
